Job description
A leading cancer center in North Carolina is seeking a few Board-Certified Medical Oncologist for an outpatient locum tenens assignment, with the option to transition to a permanent role if desired. This center delivers a full spectrum of cancer treatments, including medical oncology, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and access to clinical trials. It is proudly accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, ensuring high standards of care and comprehensive support services.
Assignment Details:
- Start Date: Targeting August 2025 (flexible)
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Setting: Outpatient medical oncology clinic
- Patient Load: 12–14 patients per day (mix of new and return visits)
- Support Staff: 1–4 providers per shift, 1 RN per provider, 4 MAs, 3 APPs, 6 office staff
- APP Supervision: Preferred but not required
- Call: Some inpatient call may be required—negotiable based on candidate preference
- Procedures: Bone marrow biopsy preferred, not required
- EMR: Epic (UNC Health instance)
- Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 90 days
- Licensure: IMLC candidates welcome
- Vaccination Requirements: Flu vaccine required
