- Occasional Weekends

All offices are located within a 30-minute driving radius. Some rotation is required based on patient need, but the schedule and level of rotation will be decided in consultation with the new physician.


COMPANY PROFILE:
This private oncology practice opened more than 40 years ago and currently boasts a provider staff of 22 physicians and 18 nurse practitioners / physician assistants. Together with their support team, they offer compassionate, high-quality oncology services in comfortable, modern settings with local hospital affiliations. The services of the practice include, among others, cancer treatments, infusion therapy, radiotherapy services, diagnostic imaging, telemedicine, pharmacy, genetic testing and counseling, and survivorship.


POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Physicians see an average of 30 to 35 patients per day in the office and are supported by highly trained clinical assistants. The practice uses the OncoEMR system.

Duties of the role include, but are not limited to:

- see patients in outpatient oncology offices for physical exams, medical histories, etc.
- order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures
- interpret and integrate data to determine preliminary diagnoses and therapeutic plans
- see patients for chronic and acute episodic symptoms
- write prescriptions and perform outpatient procedures
- triage patient telephone calls
- administer medications and injections
- suture minor lacerations
- instruct patients / family regarding medications and treatments
- educate patients regarding health maintenance and illness prevention
- recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs
- collaborate with other physicians in managing acute and long-term needs of patients
- provide monitoring and continuity of care between visits
- make occasional house calls when necessary
- make occasional rounds in local hospitals

The new oncologist will work between the Pearland, League City, and Pasadena locations - the amount of rotation is flexible and will be decided collaboratively with the new physician at the time of hire.

The practice also sees patients at nearby hospitals. Very occasionally, physicians from the group will provide weekend rounding services at the hospital, which is flexibly scheduled.


REQUIREMENTS:
- Texas medical license
- DEA
- Board Eligible or Certified, Oncology
- no experience required
- current residents and new graduates are welcome to apply
- Spanish fluency required
