Job Description

The primary focus of the Occupational Medicine Physician is to provide full rehabilitative care to patients.

Details:

  • Permanent, full-time position
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
  • After-hours telephone call required
  • Well-established facility with on-site x-ray, MRI, therapy, and lab
  • Serve as the principal clinician for an externally-operated, physician-led occupational center
  • 85% clinical and 15% administrative duties
  • EMR: Athena
  • Responsibilities include:
    • Diagnose and determine occupational causation
    • Manage prevalent work-related presentations, which include musculoskeletal injuries, skin lesions, respiratory ailments, and other internal symptoms
    • Acquire working knowledge of operational processes, job hazards, and exposure controls
    • Utilize prescription and non-prescription medications, diagnostic testing, physical therapy and other ancillary services
    • Perform respirator medical clearance, medical surveillance, and fitness for duty examinations
    • Interpret screening audiograms
    • Oversee clinical support staff and advanced practitioners
    • No hospital duties required

Qualifications

  • Board Certified preferred, Board Eligible considered
  • Doctorate of Medicine degree from an accredited medical school
  • Unrestricted California medical license
  • Minimum 5 years of previous clinical experience in an urgent care facility, occupational clinic, private practice, or institutional clinic
  • Residency training in Occupational Medicine, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine with Sports Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Physiatry
  • DOT CDL and MRO certification preferred
  • Previous experience supervising advanced practitioners and staff preferred
