Position Overview

12-hour OB hospitalist shifts. Flexible monthly schedule. No clinic responsibilities.

One of our Partner in Washington state is seeking a Board-Certified OB/GYN physician to provide 12-hour inpatient hospitalist coverage in Vancouver, Washington. This assignment focuses on labor & delivery and inpatient gynecologic care within a collaborative hospital environment.

The schedule offers 3–8 shifts per month with day or night shift options, allowing physicians to maintain flexible locum coverage while working predictable blocks. Providers remain on-site for the full 12-hour shift managing admissions, rounding, deliveries, and urgent obstetric procedures.

Pay Ranking: Top 10–15% nationally for OB hospitalist locums (2026 market data)

Estimated Contract Earnings (26 weeks): $86,400 – $249,600 depending on shifts worked

Assignment Highlights

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient OB/GYN hospitalist coverage

  • Manage labor and delivery patients

  • Perform procedures including:

    • Cesarean sections

    • Dilation & Curettage (D&C)

  • Perform rounding and admissions

  • Respond to obstetric emergencies during scheduled shifts

  • Collaborate with OB/GYN physicians and specialty teams

  • Maintain documentation within Epic EMR

Skills & Experience

  • Board Certified – Obstetrics & Gynecology

  • Active Washington medical license required at presentation

  • BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)

  • Fetal monitoring certification

  • Recent clinical activity including:

    • 100 obstetric patients in the past 24 months

    • 15 Cesarean sections

    • 30 vaginal deliveries

  • Ability to provide case logs from the previous 24 months

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage inpatient OB/GYN hospitalist cases

  • Provide labor & delivery coverage

  • Conduct inpatient rounding and admissions

  • Perform required OB/GYN procedures

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

  • Ensure high-quality patient care and documentation
