Position Overview
One of our Partners in south Carolina is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible OB/GYN physician to provide full-time locum tenens coverage beginning March 2026. This assignment includes a combination of outpatient clinic and call coverage in a rural hospital setting with midwife support and manageable inpatient and surgical volume.
Pay ranking: Top 15% of rural OB/GYN locum tenens roles based on 2025 market data.
This role is well suited for an OB/GYN who is comfortable practicing independently while maintaining a predictable, sustainable schedule.
Assignment Highlights

Full-time locum coverage (clinic + call)

Clinic hours:

Clinic begins at 9:00 AM

Last appointment scheduled for 4:15–4:30 PM (?7.5-hour clinic day)
Midwives take first call
Average 1–4 inpatients/day
Average 1–3 surgical cases/day
Clinic volume of 15–25 patients/day
Rural hospital environment with strong provider autonomy
No ER backup required
Job Responsibilities

Provide outpatient OB/GYN clinic care

Perform gynecologic surgeries as scheduled

Round on OB/GYN inpatients

Participate in call coverage (midwives take first call)

Independently manage OB/GYN cases appropriate to a rural setting

Collaborate with nursing staff, midwives, and hospital leadership
Skills & Experience
-
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology

Comfortable working independently in a rural hospital environment

Experience with clinic-based OB/GYN, inpatient rounding, and general OB/GYN surgery

Strong clinical judgment and adaptability
