A locum tenens opportunity is available for an OB Hospitalist at a medical center in Des Moines, Iowa. This role requires expertise in obstetrics, focusing on inpatient care, including the management of emergency patients and maternity transport. The ideal candidate will start on January 1, 2026, covering 24-hour shifts with 6.5 shifts per month, and will not be responsible for any GYN duties.

Job Responsibilities
- Manage emergent obstetric patients, including vaginal deliveries and C-sections
- Provide care for patients without a primary OB/GYN
- Collaborate with the maternity transport team, the only one of its kind in Iowa
- Work closely with MFM on-call and utilize available in-house resources like medical imaging, lab, and pharmacy
Qualifications
- Board Certified or truly board eligible in Obstetrics
- Active IA License or Active IMLC
- Clean malpractice/background record
Working Hours
- 24-hour shifts, 6.5 shifts per month
- On-call requirement: 24/7 in-house, with call rooms provided
Skills
- Proficient in emergency obstetric care
- Familiarity with Epic EMR
- Ability to work independently with a focus on inpatient care
