Job description
Seeking a Board certified OB/GYN Physician to serve as an Obstetrics Hospitalist in a Level II NICU setting. This locum or locum-to-perm role provides full-scope inpatient obstetrical care with no on-call duties, utilizing EPIC and working within a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. The position offers 24-hour shifts, steady delivery volumes, and the opportunity to provide high-quality care in a well-supported hospital system.
Schedule / Dates

Shifts: 5–6 shifts per month

Shift Length: 24 hours (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)

Weekends: Required (same 24-hr format)

Holidays: Eligible for holiday pay premium

On-Call: None

Avg Deliveries: 4–5 per 24-hour shift (majority vaginal; ~25% C-sections)

Job Details & Responsibilities

Setting: Level II NICU hospital environment

Duties:
-
Inpatient and outpatient obstetrics
-
Rounds and clinic as needed
-
Management of approx. 13–14 patients/day across care settings
-
Labor & delivery management, including vaginal and cesarean deliveries

EMR: EPIC
-
Team Environment: Multidisciplinary, supportive hospitalist group

Interviews: Virtual (Teams/Zoom)

Compensation: $350–$375/hour (1099 accepted)

Facility does not reimburse credentialing fees

$25k conversion fee cap

Candidates with malpractice/licensing history may be considered individually

Required Skills & Qualifications

Board Certified in OB/GYN – Required

Active California medical license (or application in progress before start) – Required

BLS, ACLS, DEA – Required before start

COVID-19 vaccination – Required

NPDB self-query – Required
-
Documented delivery experience – Required (list average annual deliveries)

Experience: 1–5 years preferred (not required)

Not Eligible: New grads, board-eligible but not certified, or lapsed certification

State License Requirement: California
