OB Hospitalist - Permanent | Michigan

OB Hospitalist – Full-Time, 24-Hour Shifts

A mission-driven health system is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible OB/GYN with at least three years of experience to join its dedicated OB Hospitalist team. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) permanent position within a high-acuity labor & delivery unit, supported by a Level III NICU and strong interdisciplinary collaboration.

Position Highlights:

• 24-hour in-house coverage, 6–7 shifts per month (including holidays)

• Manage laboring/postpartum patients and unassigned OB/GYN cases

• Handle OB emergencies, emergency GYN consults, triage, and deliveries

• Supervise residents, fellows, and medical students in an academic setting

• Work closely with experienced L&D RNs, NICU APPs, and Neonatologists

• Participate in a collaborative care model with MFM physicians

• High-risk maternity environment with a focus on safety and patient-centered care

Requirements:

• Board Certified or TRULY Board Eligible in OB/GYN (must certify within 2 years)

• Minimum of 3 years OB/GYN experience

• BLS and ACLS (must be maintained throughout employment)

• Active DEA

• Michigan medical license required by time of employment

• Clean malpractice/license history highly preferred

• No support for visa or locums candidates

• Candidates who have previously allowed their Board Certification to lapse are ineligible
