This is an employed physician position working in a community of 52,000 and serving a population of 110,000 patients. The salary offered for this position will be $345,647 plus incentives. The compensation package for this position will also include a $68,000 signing bonus. The Hospital: This Southern Oregon Medical Center is a not-for-profit, community-owned, internationally accredited acute-care teaching hospital dedicated to the people it serves. As a leader in the healthcare industry, it is also an economic and social asset for the community. The facility serves more than 80,000 people in counties in southern Oregon, counties in northern California. As the only hospital in a 10,000-square-mile area, it combines small-town charm and neighborliness with big-city medical expertise in our facility, which is licensed for over 150 beds. The facility is ISO 9001 certified by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and is one of only a handful of hospitals in Oregon to achieve this honor. ISO 9001 is recognized by business and industry around the world as the benchmark for continual quality improvement. It is recognition of technical excellence that patients and their families can trust. The medical center family also includes an award-winning Treatment Center and Center for Total Joint and Spine Care and also has a Family Medicine Residency. The Medical Center, in partnership with Oregon Health & Science University, recently constructed the Collaborative Health Center, a four-story nearly 100,000-square-foot building adjacent to Family Medicine Clinic on its campus to support collaboration and innovation in the way healthcare is delivered. The Community: This Southern Oregon community is located at the base of the beautiful Cascades Mountains. At 4,200 feet above sea level, it offers four seasons, mild climate, affordable housing, arts and theater and is home to a technical college. The community is easily navigable, with brief commutes. To travel farther afield there is an International Airport about an hour's drive away. Recreational activities abound in the outdoors. World-class fishing, hunting, mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, white water rafting, ATVing, skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, etc., are all available and frequent hobbies of the community residents. The incredible natural beauty of the Northwest’s largest fresh water lake, the Pacific water fowl migratory flyway, and the access to Pacific Crest Trail all make our community a relaxing place to live and to call home.
