Locums – Federal Way, Washington OB/GYN Job (IMLC Accepted)

Duration: 3–6 months

Schedule & Shifts:

• Clinic: 8:00 AM–4:45 PM

• Call: 7:00 AM–7:00 AM

• 3 clinic shifts and 1 call shift per week

• FTE: 1.0

Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient

Duties:

• 60–70% OB and 30–40% GYN

• OB: Mix of high-risk and low-risk patients, including diabetes, hypertension, advanced maternal age, and multiples up to twins. Higher-order multiples are transferred to another facility.

• Diverse patient population with many different languages spoken in the office.

• GYN: Annual exams, abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB), birth control, and surgical consultations for fibroids, AUB, polyps, etc.

• Circumcisions are performed in the office and may be performed by the provider if desired.

• Ultrasound: On-site sonographer performs early OB dating scans, 35–36 week position checks, and basic GYN ultrasounds such as IUD position checks and occasional fibroid evaluations. Providers read their own ultrasounds on call days; locums providers in clinic would likely not be responsible for reading ultrasounds.

Office:

• Procedure room available for LEEPs and colposcopies.

• Office anesthesia offered one day per month, although it is unlikely a locums provider would be credentialed for this service.

• Full range of birth control services, including:

  • Depo

  • IUD placement, including Paragard and Mirena in office

  • Nexplanon placement

Patient Volume:

• 18–24 patients per day

Clinic:

• OB and GYN patients

Required Procedures & Responsibilities:

• Manage Labor & Delivery patients; no DOCS

• Assist CNMs and FPOBs

• Provide GYN coverage in the ER

• Level I nursery coverage

• Must be comfortable practicing in a Critical Access Hospital (CAH)

• CNM available 24 hours to perform CNM deliveries, first assist in the OR, and triage

• MD delivers approximately 1–2 patients per 24-hour shift
