OB/GYN Nocturnist opening in Massachusetts

- Full-time; Permanent
- OB/GYN Hospitalist – Nocturnist
**7 PM–7 AM | 12 Shifts Per Month | 24/7 In-House Support**
An established OB/GYN Hospitalist program in Lowell, Massachusetts is seeking a **Board-Certified or Board-Eligible OB/GYN** to join its collaborative inpatient team as a Nocturnist. The physician will work alongside another OB Hospitalist and Certified Nurse Midwives in a team-based coverage model focused on high-quality obstetric care, patient safety, and work-life balance. With just **12 shifts per month**, this position offers significant scheduling flexibility along with strong in-house specialty support.
**Position Highlights**
* Full-time, permanent OB/GYN Hospitalist opportunity
* **Nocturnist schedule: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM**
* **12 shifts per month**
* Shared coverage model with OB Hospitalists and Certified Nurse Midwives
* 24/7 OB Hospitalist and CNM coverage
* Approximately **1,800 deliveries annually**, shared between the Hospitalist and Generalist OB/GYN teams
* Focus on inpatient Obstetrics and consultative Gynecology
* Strong nursing and multidisciplinary support
* **In-house Anesthesia, Pediatrics, and ICU support available 24/7**

**Clinical Responsibilities**
* Provide obstetric care on Labor & Delivery
* Manage **OB Emergency Department evaluations and admissions**
* Evaluate and manage patients throughout labor and delivery
* Provide urgent and consultative Gynecologic care
* Serve in a consultative role with Family Medicine attendings
* Collaborate closely with Certified Nurse Midwives
* Work alongside nursing staff, physician colleagues, and other specialists
* Participate in quality improvement and patient-safety initiatives
* Support coordinated, patient-centered care for a diverse patient population
**Academic & Teaching Opportunities**
* Faculty appointment with a medical school, with rank commensurate with experience

**Qualifications**
* MD or DO
* Board Certified or Board Eligible in **Obstetrics & Gynecology**
* Completion of an accredited OB/GYN residency
* Current or eligible Massachusetts medical license
* Interest in hospital-based Obstetrics and Gynecology
* Interest in teaching and mentoring residents and medical students
