Shift Details

-- Call response time required: 30 minutes
-- Call ratio: 1:4

-- Coverage for both OB and GYN call
-- Need 1 locum to cover every 5th weekend starting 5:00 PM Friday through 5:00 AM Monday

Requirements
-- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
-- Active Missouri license
-- BLS, ACLS, PALS required

Required Procedures / Skills
-- Low risk pregnancy
-- High risk pregnancy
-- FHR interpretation (NST/CST/FSE)
-- OB ultrasounds performance and interpretation
-- Level I/Screening (viability)
-- Level II/Targeted (anatomic)
-- Amniocentesis
-- Routine delivery
-- Vaginal delivery
-- Low forceps
-- Decision-making for C-section
-- Complicated delivery
-- C-section
-- Breech
-- Multiple births
-- Abruptions
-- VBACs
-- Repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations
-- Office/minor gynecology including IUD, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, and LEEP
-- Surgical gynecology
-- Open procedures
-- Laparoscopic diagnostic/minor procedures including tubal ligation and LOAs
-- Operative/major procedures including ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, and extensive LOAs

-- Inpatient practice setting
-- Patients per shift: 5
-- Duties include admissions
-- EMR: Epic
-- Trauma Level 3 facility
-- PEDs Level 2
-- Average deliveries per year: 750
-- Beds in department: 16
-- Beds in department: 16 (8 LDRP, 8 couplet/GYN)
-- RN staffing: 1:1 during labor, 2:1 postpartum, 4:1 women's health
-- Office has 1 NP
-- Office has 16 staff between MAs, RNs, and PSRs
