Locum Physician – OB/GYN
Position Type: Locum
Specialty: Physician - OB/GYN
Location: Lansing, MI
Shift: 24-hour on-call coverage
Position Details:
- OB call coverage every 5th week of the month
- No specific coverage dates currently available
- 24/7 hospital coverage
- 2 hours of gratis patient care included
- Approximately 4 deliveries per day
- Coverage includes Labor & Delivery, Emergency Department, surgical coverage, acute/urgent surgical needs, and emergent clinic consults
- 2 NPs available for support
- EHR: Cerner
- Reverse billing; provider must clock in/out using DocTime
Patient Population:
- Low-risk pregnancy
- OB/GYN patients
- Approximately 4 deliveries per day
Setting:
Hospital-based OB/GYN
McLaren Central Michigan
Responsibilities:
- Labor & Delivery coverage
- Emergency Department coverage
- Surgical coverage
- Acute/urgent surgical care
- Clinic consults for emergent cases to determine need for hospital admission
Required Procedures:
- Vaginal deliveries
- C-sections
- Repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations
- VBAC
- OB Ultrasound
- Amniocentesis
EMR System:
Cerner
Support Staff:
2 NPs
Days Per Month:
Every 5th week of the month
On-Call/Weekends:
24-hour on-call coverage; weekend coverage required
Submission Requirements:
- Board Certified in OB/GYN
- Active Michigan license
- NPDB pulled within the last 30 days
