OBGYN Hospitalist Opening Near San Francisco, CA

We are seeking Board Certified OBGYN Hospitalists to join a newly established hospital-based obstetrics and gynecology program in Redwood City, California. This is a unique opportunity to help build a new service line from the ground up while providing comprehensive inpatient obstetric and gynecologic care in a collaborative, team-based environment.
In addition to Hospitalist positions, an opportunity is available for an OBGYN Hospitalist Medical Director to provide clinical leadership, oversee program development, and drive quality initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive inpatient obstetric and gynecologic care.
Manage labor and delivery patients.
Evaluate and treat obstetric and gynecologic emergencies.
Perform OB and GYN triage and surgical procedures.
Provide inpatient consultations as needed.
Collaborate with community OB/GYN physicians, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
Participate in the development and growth of a new hospitalist program focused on clinical excellence.
The Medical Director will:
Provide clinical leadership for the hospitalist team.
Help establish workflows, policies, and best practices.
Lead quality improvement initiatives.
Foster a collaborative culture and support program development.
Prior leadership experience is preferred.
Practice Environment
Brand-new OB-GYN Hospitalist program launching in November 2026.
Team of five OB-GYN Hospitalists.
Approximately 1,200 annual deliveries.
Level II NICU with specialist support.
Maternal-Fetal Medicine collaboration.

Qualifications
Required:
Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology
Active California medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure
Strong clinical judgment and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
DEA registration prior to employment
Preferred:
Five or more years of clinical experience
Clean malpractice and professional license history
Previous leadership experience for Medical Director candidates
Compensation & Benefits
Annual compensation range: $312,000–$438,000, based on scheduled hours
$100,000 sign-on bonus
Medical Director stipend: $25,000 annually

Candidate Requirements
Board Certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology is required.
Candidates must be eligible for California medical licensure and obtain DEA registration prior to employment.
