We are seeking a dedicated OB/GYN Hospitalist to provide 24-hour shift coverage in Mason City, Iowa. The Opportunity

This is an inpatient role within a 346-bed medical center, where you will lead the Labor & Delivery unit and help shape the next generation of physicians.

• Clinical Scope: Oversee L&D, triage patients, and perform vaginal and cesarean deliveries. You will manage both high- and low-risk obstetric evaluations and provide urgent GYN consultations and surgeries.

• Teaching & Mentorship: As a teaching hospital, you will provide education and mentoring for Family Medicine residents and medical students from DMU.

• Collaborative Team: Work alongside General OB/GYNs, Pediatric Hospitalists, and a full suite of APPs (PA, ARNP, and Midwifery).

• Support Services: 24/7 access to Pediatric hospitalists, EFM-certified nurses, NICU nurses, and lactation consultants.

• Shift Structure: 24-hour in-house shifts. Flexible scheduling allows for 24-96 hour blocks.

• EMR: Epic.

Compensation & Travel

• Travel Reimbursement: Full coverage for airfare (up to $750), lodging (1.5x GSA rate), and rental car ($55/day). Mileage is reimbursed at the IRS standard rate.

• Hourly Rates: Competitive rates provided upon inquiry (includes malpractice coverage).

• Orientation: Paid at a specialized orientation rate.

Candidate Requirements

To ensure high-quality care and mentorship, candidates must meet the following:

• Board Certification: Must be Board Certified in OB/GYN.

• Licensure: Active Iowa State Medical License is required.

• Training: Must be Residency Trained in Obstetrics & Gynecology.

• Availability: Must be able to cover some of the following immediate dates: May 20, May 25, May 26, May 27. (Ongoing monthly coverage of ~4 shifts is also available).

• Background: Must have a clean malpractice and background history.

• Documentation: A Self-Query NPDB report (pulled within the last 30 days) is required at the time of presentation.
