Opportunity Overview

We are seeking 2 OB/GYN Locum Physicians to provide inpatient Labor & Delivery coverage in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

This role is focused entirely on in-house OB/GYN care, including L&D, postpartum, and emergent cases—no outpatient clinic responsibilities!

Schedule & Coverage

📅 Start: July
⏳ Assignment Length: 4–6 months (extension possible)

⏰ Shift Options:
✔️ Weekdays: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM / 5:00 PM – 8:00 AM
✔️ Weekends: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM / 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

📌 Coverage Requirement:
👉 2 weekday shifts + 2 weekend shifts per week

🚫 No traditional on-call (in-house coverage only)

Key Responsibilities

👶 Provide Labor & Delivery care
🏥 Manage postpartum patients
⚕️ Handle emergent GYN OR cases & ED consults
🤝 Collaborate with PAs and CNMs for patient management
📋 Oversee admissions, H&Ps, and treatment plans
📝 Document care using Epic & OBIX systems

Clinical Environment

📊 ~1,200 births annually
👩‍⚕️ ~20 patients per day
🤝 24/7 support from CNMs, PAs & backup OB physicians
⚕️ Team-based, high-efficiency care model

Required Qualifications

🎓 MD/DO degree
🏅 Board Certified/Eligible in OB/GYN
📜 Active Massachusetts medical license (required)
💉 Flu vaccination required (no exceptions)
🧠 Strong experience in inpatient OB/GYN & L&D

Additional Details

📋 Credentialing timeframe: 60–90 days
📚 Required training: Epic & OBIX
🏥 Inpatient setting only (no clinic duties)
