Indiana University Health is seeking a board eligible/certified OB/GYN laborist for in-house locum tenens coverage at SCR – IU Health Bloomington Hospital in Indiana. Assignment begins August 1, 2026 and continues on an ongoing basis. This is call-only coverage with 12-24 hour shifts providing in-house laborist services.
Job Responsibilities
• Perform routine and complicated deliveries including vaginal deliveries, low forceps, breech, multiple births, and VBACs, and handle decision‑making for cesarean sections.
• Manage obstetric emergencies and provide postpartum care; repair third and fourth degree lacerations.
• Interpret fetal heart rate tracings (NST/CST/FSE) and perform and interpret OB ultrasounds (level I viability, level II targeted).
• Perform surgical gynecology procedures as needed, including laparoscopic tubal ligation, treatment of ectopic pregnancy, cystectomy, and other minor and major gynecologic surgeries.
• Round on admitted patients and collaborate with certified nurse midwives (CNMs), registered nurses (RNs), and other support staff to ensure high quality patient care.
• Utilize Cerner EMR for documentation and adhere to hospital policies and protocols.
