🏥 Position Overview

We are seeking a Board-Certified Obstetrics & Gynecology Physician (MD/DO) for a locum coverage opportunity at a well-established acute care hospital in Potsdam, New York.

This assignment provides 24-hour first-call coverage supporting the hospital’s OB/GYN department. The provider will work alongside a skilled clinical team managing both obstetric and gynecologic cases, ensuring high-quality patient care for women and newborns.

👨‍⚕️ Eligible Provider

✔️ MD / DO – Obstetrics & Gynecology
✔️ Board Certified (BC) Required
✔️ Active New York Medical License Required
✔️ BLS, ACLS, and NRP Certifications Required
✔️ Minimum 2 years of recent OB/GYN experience

🔎 Key Responsibilities

👶 Manage labor and delivery cases including vaginal and cesarean deliveries
🩺 Perform obstetric and gynecologic procedures as required
📋 Provide emergency and routine OB/GYN care during call coverage
🔬 Perform procedures such as D&C/D&E and gynecologic surgeries
👩‍⚕️ Collaborate with anesthesiology and nursing staff for patient management
💻 Document patient care using the EPIC EMR system

🏥 Practice Environment

🏥 Acute Care Hospital – 94 Beds
👩‍⚕️ Support staff includes:
• 6 RNs (Day Shift)
• 5 RNs (Night Shift)
• 1 CNA per shift
• 1 Unit Clerk per shift
• Anesthesiologist on call at all times

👥 Average patient volume: 15–20 patients per day
💻 EPIC Electronic Medical Record system
💊 Medication system: Pyxis

⚕️ Procedures Required

• Spontaneous Vaginal Delivery (SVD)
• Operative vaginal delivery (forceps or vacuum)
• Vaginal delivery repair
• Cesarean section
• Infant male circumcisions
• D&C / D&E procedures
• Laparoscopic, robotic, and abdominal gynecologic surgeries
