  • Other details: The facility which is stroke-certified and trauma level 2 is looking for a provider to cover on-site clinical hours and In-house call if needed. There are an average of 4.3 patients per day and 15 beds in the department. The position requires an OB physician with an active Michigan license and board certification or eligibility, responsible for 24-hour all-inclusive call coverage with response to the ED and L&D within 10 minutes and arrival within 30 minutes for emergencies or changes in labor. The physician will participate in orientation on 5/28 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with ongoing assignments including 5/29–6/1 and 7/24–7/27, and will manage an average of eight calls per 24 hours, contributing to approximately 370–380 deliveries annually. Duties include supervision and teaching of family medicine residents and third- and fourth-year medical students, rounding on assigned and unassigned patients, and providing care according to hospital protocols. While certifications such as ABLC, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS are encouraged, they are not required; completion of a conscious sedation module is needed only if privileges for sedation administration are requested. The hospital is primary stroke certified, and the physician will collaborate with the care team to ensure timely, high-quality obstetric and emergency care.

Job Responsibilities

* Provide obstetric care, including management of labor and deliveries (approximately 370–380 per year).
* Respond to ED and L&D emergencies within 10 minutes and arrive within 30 minutes when required.
* Supervise and teach family medicine residents and third- and fourth-year medical students.
* Round on assigned and unassigned patients.
* Participate in orientation and ongoing assignments as scheduled.
* Administer conscious sedation if privileges are requested, following completion of required module.

Qualifications

* MD or DO degree with board certification or eligible status in Obstetrics.
* Active Michigan medical license (IMLC not accepted).
* Encouraged, but not required: ABLC, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS certifications.

Working Hours

* Orientation: 5/28, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
* Ongoing assignments: 5/29–6/1 and 7/24–7/27.
* 24-hour all-inclusive call coverage with response to ED/L&D emergencies as needed.
