Job description Locums – OB Hospitalist Location: Marquette, Michigan Trauma Level II | Teaching Facility Assignment Details
  • Start Date: 05/28/2026
  • End Date: Ongoing
  • Orientation: 5/28 (8a–4p)
  • Initial Coverage Blocks:
    • 5/29 (7a) – 6/1 (7a)
    • 7/24 (7a) – 7/27 (7a)
    • Ongoing assignments thereafter
Call & Coverage Structure
  • 24-hour in-house call
  • Must arrive within 30 minutes of initial contact when required
  • Respond to ED and L&D within 10 minutes
  • Attending must see patient:
    • Anytime condition warrants
    • Within 12 hours of admission to L&D
  • Average call volume: 8/day (~55/week)
  • Patients per shift: 4.3/day
  • Annual deliveries:
    • 450 total unit
    • OB service: 370–380/year
Clinical Scope
  • Admissions required
  • Rounding on assigned and unassigned patients
    • FM residency generally covers unassigned
  • Supervision required:
    • Family Medicine residents
    • 3rd/4th year medical students
Required Qualifications
  • Board Certified (required)
  • Active Michigan license
  • No required certifications (ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS encouraged)
  • Conscious sedation module required if requesting sedation privileges (provided free onsite)
Facility Details
  • 15-bed facility
  • Trauma Level II
  • Primary Stroke Certified (not comprehensive)
  • EMR: Athena and Cerner
Ideal Candidate
  • Board-certified OB comfortable with 24-hour in-house call
  • Able to supervise residents and medical students
  • Comfortable with moderate delivery volume and ED/L&D response requirements
