Exciting locum tenens opportunity for a Board-Certified OB/GYN Hospitalist seeking flexible 12-hour or 24-hour in-house call shifts. This hospital-based role focuses exclusively on obstetric and gynecologic coverage, including triage, deliveries, ER consults, and inpatient rounding.
Join a collaborative team with resident support, CNMs, and dedicated Labor & Delivery staff. This practice manages both low- and high-risk pregnancies, offering a dynamic clinical environment with advanced OB care and surgical gynecology procedures.
Ideal for physicians who enjoy hospital-based obstetrics, comprehensive surgical cases, and structured call scheduling in a well-supported setting.
Job Responsibilities
• Triage and deliver OB patients (65–80 deliveries per month average)
• Manage low- and high-risk pregnancies
• Perform vaginal deliveries and C-sections
• Interpret fetal monitoring (NST/CST/FSE)
• Provide ER consults and inpatient rounding
• Perform required OB and gynecologic surgical procedures
• Utilize Cerner EMR for documentation
Qualifications
• Active Iowa License or IMLC (Required)
• Fetal Monitoring Certification (Required)
• Clean malpractice and background history
• NPDB self-query within required timeframe
• Strong experience in high-risk obstetrics and surgical gynecology
Working Hours
• Monday–Friday availability required
• Weekend shifts welcomed
• No consecutive weekday 24-hour shifts
• Call schedule available 1–2 months in advance

• Advanced labor & delivery procedures
• C-section and operative delivery expertise
• Surgical gynecology (open and laparoscopic)
• Fetal heart rate interpretation
• Strong clinical judgment in acute OB scenarios
