Job description JOB OVERVIEW
• Job Title: Obstetrics/Gynecology Physician
• Job Type: Locum Tenens
• Location: Elkins, WV
• Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient
• Coverage Type: Call Only
• Coverage Period: 04/16/2026 – Ongoing (6-month contract)
• Clinical Shift Schedule: 24-hour call shifts, 7:00p – 7:00p
• On-Call Shift Schedule: 24-hour call coverage
• Call Type: In-House and Beeper as required
• Call Ratio: TBD
• Call Response Time: As clinically required
• Callback Rate: TBD

COVERAGE DATES
• Starting 04/16/2026 – Ongoing
• Estimated coverage need: 5–10 call days per month

PATIENT INFORMATION
• Patient Demographics: Obstetric and Gynecologic patients
• Patient Volume/Census: No clinic; call volume approximately 10–15 patients per week
• Admissions: Yes
• Rounding: Included as clinically appropriate
• Phone Consults: As clinically appropriate
• Case Mix: Comprehensive labor and delivery coverage in a Level IV trauma hospital

FACILITY INFORMATION
• No. of Beds in Department: 110
• Trauma Level: Level IV Trauma Center
• EMR System: Paragon
• Office Equipment Available: Standard labor and delivery and surgical equipment
• Specialty Backup Available: Hospital-based support services
• Support Staff Available: Operating Room staff and Labor & Delivery staff
• Reason for Coverage: Supplemental locum call coverage

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
• Temporary Privileges Available: IMLC or temporary license accepted
• Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 60 days

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
• Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered per facility guidelines

REQUIRED PROCEDURES
• Vaginal and cesarean deliveries
• Management of obstetric emergencies
• Gynecologic procedures as required during call
• Inpatient OB/GYN consults and surgical management

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Licenses: Active West Virginia license required; IMLC accepted
• Board: Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology required
• DEA: Required
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
• Experience: Minimum 1 year OB/GYN experience required
• Other Qualifications: Ability to independently manage comprehensive labor and delivery coverage

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide 24-hour OB/GYN call coverage
• Manage labor and delivery patients and obstetric emergencies
• Perform gynecologic procedures as clinically indicated
• Evaluate and manage inpatient OB/GYN consults
• Collaborate with L&D and OR staff to ensure continuity of care
• Document patient encounters and procedures in Paragon EMR
