Job description OB/GYN Opportunity Location: Brattleboro, Vermont Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time Call Rotation: 1 in 4 (home call) POSITION OVERVIEW Join a hospital-owned OB/GYN practice in a vibrant southern Vermont community. This is an independently operating community hospital known for a collaborative culture where physicians are trusted, supported, and heard. The practice has exceptional stability, with multiple physicians and staff members serving for over 20 years. PRACTICE & SCHEDULE HIGHLIGHTS
  • Flexible Schedule: 3–4 clinic days per week
  • Patient Volume: 12–14 patients per day
  • Call: Manageable home call, serving as back-up to midwives
  • Call Rotation: 1 in 4 (extra call compensated)
  • OR Time: ~3 dedicated OR days per month
  • Operating Rooms: Brand new ORs with advanced minimally invasive/laparoscopic capabilities
CLINICAL SCOPE
  • Full-spectrum OB/GYN care
  • Broad range of OB/GYN consults and office procedures
  • Steady surgical volume
  • Birth center services include:
    • VBACs
    • Water births
    • 24-hour epidural service
    • Nitrous oxide for labor
  • Annual Deliveries: ~250–300
  • Midwives manage uncomplicated vaginal deliveries, routine labor care, and after-hours patient calls
TEAM STRUCTURE
  • Physicians: 4
  • Midwives: 6
  • Nurse Practitioners: 1
  • Support Staff: Experienced nurses, medical assistants, and secretarial staff
  • Culture: Respectful, collaborative, and family-focused with very low turnover

  • State constitution protects reproductive rights, allowing evidence-based OB/GYN practice without legislative interference
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS (REQUIRED)
  • MD or DO
  • Completion of an accredited OB/GYN residency (U.S. or Canada)
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Salary Range: $280,000 – $360,000 annually
    • Based on experience and FTE
    • Provided in compliance with Vermont Act 155
