Job description
ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking an experienced Locum OB/GYN Physician (MD/DO) to provide office-based care and hospital call coverage during a physician’s medical leave. This role offers a balanced mix of outpatient OB/GYN, labor and delivery, and surgical gynecology within a collaborative, well-supported practice. The position serves a predominantly low-risk OB population with access to NICU Level III services.

Office Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Call Coverage: 24-hour call coverage on scheduled call days

Job Details & Responsibilities
-
Provide office-based OB/GYN care and hospital call coverage
-
Manage an average of 25–30 scheduled patients per day
-
Care for adult OB/GYN patients with approximately:
-
90% low-risk OB
-
10% high-risk OB
-
20% GYN
-
-
Perform labor and delivery services, including routine and complicated deliveries
-
Provide gynecologic care, including office-based and surgical procedures
-
Interpret fetal heart rate monitoring and OB ultrasounds (Level I/screening)
-
Utilize EPC EMR for documentation
Labor & Delivery Responsibilities:
-
Vaginal deliveries and operative vaginal deliveries
-
C-sections, including complicated cases (breech, multiples, abruptions)
-
VBACs
-
Repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations
Gynecology Responsibilities:
-
Office/minor procedures: IUDs, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP
-
Surgical gynecology:
-
Minor/open and laparoscopic (tubal ligation, LOAs, chromal tubation)

Major/operative cases (ectopic pregnancy, oophorectomy, cystectomy, extensive LOAs)

Practice Environment:
-
Office and hospital-based practice
-
Level II Trauma Center with Level III NICU
-
4 physicians (1 on leave), 5 midwives, and 1:1 clinical staff support per provider

Onsite lab and ultrasound
-
3 exam rooms per provider
Required Skills & Qualifications
-
Board Certified or Board Eligible in OB/GYN
-
Active Virginia medical license (or willingness to obtain)

BLS and ACLS certification
-
Proven competency in obstetrics, labor and delivery, and gynecologic procedures

Ability to manage both routine and complicated OB/GYN cases
-
NPDB Self-Query Report dated within 30 days of presentation (required)

Provider must be local

Must specify city of travel origin at time of name clear

Estimated credentialing timeframe: ~120 days
