Locums OB Hospitalist – Springfield, Ohio
Coverage & Schedule
- Dates: March 13, 14, and 15, 2026
- Call Schedule: Two weekends a month (Friday–Sunday as above)
- Call Ratio: 1:4 currently
- Coverage Needs: 2 providers to support coverage at least once a month
- Practice Setting: Hospital call, 90% Labor & Delivery
- Beds: L&D/Postpartum/Triage - 34 beds (Hospital total 205 beds)
- Physicians in Practice: 4
- APP Coverage: 1 APP per 12-hour shift
- Support Staff: L&D Nurses and Midwives
- Onsite Lab & Ultrasound: Yes
- Documentation System: EPIC
- Low Risk Pregnancy: 60%
- High Risk Pregnancy: 40%
- Gynecology: 60%
- Average GYN Surgeries Per Day: 5
- Average Nursery Admissions Per Day: 4
- Percentage of Patients with C-section: 1 (assumed 100%)
- Nursery Level: Level II
- Low and High Risk Pregnancies (e.g., twins, toxemia, diabetes, cardiac and renal diseases)
- FHR Interpretation (NST, CST, FSE)
- OB Ultrasound interpretation and Level I screening (viability)
- Routine vaginal deliveries
- Low forceps deliveries
- Decision-making for C-section and complicated deliveries (breech, multiple births, abruptions, VBACs)
- Repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations
- Open and laparoscopic surgical gynecology (diagnostic, minor procedures like tubal ligation)
- Operative/major surgeries (ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, extensive lysis of adhesions)
- Board Certified – Required
- Ohio Medical License – Required (Willing to accept providers needing to obtain state license)
- BLS & ACLS – Required
- Active DEA – Required
