A hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit in Silvis, Illinois is seeking a Locum OB/GYN Physician to provide 24-hour in-house coverage. This position involves comprehensive inpatient obstetric and gynecologic care, including labor and delivery services and emergency consultations. The role requires onsite coverage for 24-hour shifts and weekend availability.
The physician will manage obstetric triages, deliveries, and inpatient gynecologic cases while collaborating with hospital staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
Job Responsibilities
• Manage obstetric patients, including labor management and deliveries
• Perform vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and circumcisions
• Handle emergency gynecologic cases and inpatient consultations
• Evaluate and manage all OB triages during on-call shifts
• Collaborate with nursing, anesthesia, and hospital staff
• Document patient care accurately in the EMR
• Deliver safe, patient-centered obstetric and gynecologic care
Qualifications
• Active Illinois medical license or active IMLC Letter of Qualification
• Proven experience in obstetrics and gynecology
• NPDB Self-Query required (pulled within the last 30 days)
• Clean malpractice and background history preferred
Working Hours
• 6–8 shifts per month
• Weekend coverage required
