Locums - Escanaba, Michigan, OB/GYN Hospitalist Job

• Seeking Board-Certified or Board-Eligible OB/GYN

• Full-scope general OB/GYN coverage

• Provider will manage OB/GYN patients across hospital and call settings

• Mix of call, inpatient rounding, and surgical services

• Minimum 1 year experience required

• Time to credential: 45–60 days

• EMR: EPIC

• Vaginal deliveries and C-sections

• General OB/GYN surgical procedures

• Inpatient rounding as needed (typically mornings)

• Provider will take call for scheduled coverage periods

• Call may be taken from hotel

• May collaborate with ED physicians, Family Medicine, and Pediatrics

• No outpatient clinic coverage

• 250–300 deliveries annually

• Patient volume per physician per shift: 1–3 inpatient/postpartum

• Estimated non-delivery encounters: 1–2 per day

• High-risk diagnoses: ~30%

• Average procedures: ~4 per month

• Average callbacks: 2–3 nights per 7-day period

• NICU level: No NICU, Level I nursery

• Midwives: CNMs not yet on staff (working to hire)

• MFM on site: No

• Anesthesia: 30-minute response time (CRNA nights/weekends)

• Residency program: None

• GYN coverage required: Yes

• Circumcisions required: No

• First assist required: Occasionally

• First assist available: No

• Backup responsibilities:

• Backup midwives once hired – Yes

• Backup family practice – No

• BC/BE OB/GYN

• NRP, BLS, ACLS required

• Comfortable practicing independently in a rural setting

• Experience with full-scope OB/GYN including surgery and call
