- Other Details: The site is seeking locum OB/GYN Hospitalist physicians to provide weekday and weekend call coverage with flexible 24-hour (8a–8a) or 12-hour (8a–8p) in-house call shifts at a flat rate, with no overtime. Coverage includes triage and delivery for an average of 65–80 deliveries per month, ER OB/GYN call coverage, inpatient rounding, limited no-doc patient coverage, and optional circumcisions. The practice is supported by CNMs, residents, and full onsite services including lab and ultrasound, with a call ratio of 1:5 and call schedules released 1–2 months in advance. Providers must be board certified in OB/GYN, have active state licensure or IMLC eligibility, current fetal monitoring certification, clean malpractice and background history, and provide two references. Required competencies include management of low- and high-risk pregnancies, full labor and delivery procedures, VBACs, complex deliveries, repair of advanced lacerations, and a range of gynecologic surgical procedures. Weekday availability is mandatory with some weekend flexibility, and providers must follow scheduling rules that prevent consecutive weekday 24-hour shifts while maintaining continuity of patient care.

Job Responsibilities
* Triage and deliver obstetric patients, averaging 65–80 deliveries per month.
* Cover ER OB/GYN consults and calls.
* Round on admitted obstetric and gynecology patients.
* Manage limited “no-doc” patient cases when applicable.
* Perform circumcisions when able (not mandatory).
* Collaborate with residents, CNMs, nursing, and multidisciplinary support teams.
* Document all patient encounters accurately in the EMR.
* Follow established clinical protocols and patient safety standards.
Qualifications
* Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology (Family Medicine OB not accepted).
* Active Iowa medical license or active IMLC with LOQ.
* Current Fetal Monitoring certification (AWOHNN required).
* Clean malpractice and background history with recent NPDB report.
* Two professional references, including one from a supervisory level or above.
* Ability to obtain and maintain hospital privileges.
Working Hours
* 24-hour in-house call shifts (8a–8a) or 12-hour in-house call shifts (8a–8p).
* Flat-rate call shifts with no overtime.
* Call ratio of 1:5.
* Call schedules released 1–2 months in advance.
* No consecutive weekday 24-hour shifts allowed.
* Estimated credentialing timeframe: 30–90 days.
