Locums-to-Perm | Associate Medical Director (OB/GYN) | No Call | Dallas, TX Why This Role

  • Hands-on clinical oversight role within a large community health plan
  • 13-week locum assignment with strong intent to transition to permanent
  • Leads utilization management, quality initiatives, and provider performance review
Assignment Details Coverage Type: No Call Schedule: Full-time administrative/clinical oversight, Monday–Friday Setting: Managed care environment supporting utilization management, prior authorization review, appeals, quality, pharmacy oversight, fraud/waste/abuse review Collaboration: Works closely with Chief Medical Officer, Senior Medical Director, Pharmacy Director, and interdisciplinary committees Travel: Not open to 1099 or visa candidates; local candidates strongly preferred Clinical Details Reviews prior authorization and appeal requests for medical necessity Performs peer-to-peer consultations Provides oversight for UM, disease management, and quality programs Develops medical policies, clinical standards, and evidence-based guidelines Analyzes provider performance data and participates in credentialing reviews Supports pharmacy benefit oversight and coordination Participates in fraud/waste/abuse program evaluation Represents the plan in interactions with state and regulatory bodies Participates in process improvement initiatives, workflow optimization, and committee leadership Responsible for development of departmental goals, budgeting, and staff supervision Requirements Board Certified OB/GYN (no exceptions) Texas medical license or willingness to obtain Experience in managed care and prior authorization Experience participating in UM committees preferred Clean malpractice and license history preferred Ability to supervise and lead multidisciplinary teams Strong knowledge of Texas Medicaid regulations Experience with care coordination, population health, pharmacy integration, and behavioral health components Strong administrative, leadership, negotiation, and communication skills Ability to manage confidential information and adapt to shifting priorities Compensation Rates: Facility is accepting bids Malpractice: Provided Travel: Reimbursed
