A rewarding OB/GYN locum tenens opportunity is available for an experienced physician to provide 24-hour call coverage serving a close-knit community. This is an excellent fit for providers who enjoy full-scope OB/GYN care, autonomy, and meaningful patient relationships.

🩺 Assignment Overview

• Coverage Type: 24-hour call (7a–7a)

• Shifts: 6–8 call shifts per month

• Duration: 9–12 months

• Multiple part-time locums accepted to help fill the schedule

• Response Time: 20 minutes (cell phone contact)

👩‍⚕️ Practice Environment

• Collaborative OB practice with:

  • OB/GYNs, Family Practice OBs, and Certified Nurse Midwives

• Shared clinic space with multiple specialties

• Sole provider while on call, with clinic colleagues during the day

🏥 Clinical Duties

• OB/GYN clinic care

• OB & GYN call coverage through L&D and Emergency Department

• Admissions, deliveries, post-op rounding

• Supervision and collaboration with CNMs and FP-OBs as needed

🧪 Required Skills & Procedures

• Routine and complicated vaginal deliveries

• C-sections (must be willing to assist and supervise when needed)

• Ectopic pregnancies, D&Cs

• OB inductions

• Interpretation of fetal heart rate tracings

• Repair of 3rd–4th degree lacerations

• Comfort with low- and high-risk OB

• Emergent GYN surgeries

📊 Volume Snapshot

• Clinic: ~18 patients/day

• Deliveries: ~20–30 per month

• Case mix:

  • ~90% low risk / 10% high risk OB

  • ~20% surgical GYN

• Less than 50% callback on weekdays, weekends, and ER

• L&D staffed with experienced RNs

• In-house anesthesia coverage

• Level I Nursery (late-term & term deliveries)

• High-risk cases transferred as appropriate

• EMR system in place to support workflow

✅ Requirements

• Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible OB/GYN

• State license preferred (IMLC considered with LOQ)

• BLS, ACLS, DEA – Required
