Job description OB Hospitalist – Fort Worth, Texas Position Overview
  • Role: OB Hospitalist
  • Status: Permanent, full-time
  • Start: ASAP
  • Locums: Not accepted
  • Visa Candidates: Not accepted
  • Residency Requirement: Must live in the immediate local area (relocation may be required)
Schedule & Availability
  • Full-Time Requirement: 7.5 24-hour shifts per month
  • Minimum Considered: 5.5 24-hour shifts per month
    • Still eligible for full benefits
  • Shift Type: 24-hour in-house coverage
Candidate Requirements (Quick Screen)
  • Board Status: Board Certified or Board Eligible OB/GYN
  • State License: Active Texas license required to start ASAP
  • Experience: OB Hospitalist experience preferred
Clinical Volume & Responsibilities
  • Annual Deliveries: 1,924 total
    • 96 vaginal and C-section deliveries performed by hospitalists
  • C-Section Rate: 40%
  • OB/GYN Triage Visits: 2,296 annually
  • OBED Consults: 1,229 annually
Duties Include:
  • OB triage and admissions
  • Attending vaginal and cesarean deliveries
  • Inpatient OB care
  • Coverage for unassigned patients
  • Assistance with private call coverage
  • OB floor coverage and GYN ER consults
  • First assist on C-sections
  • Emergency response on L&D
Practice Environment
  • Hospital
  • NICU: Level II NICU
  • Collaborative Team:
    • In-house neonatologists and NNPs
    • Maternal-Fetal Medicine for high-risk pregnancies
  • Technology: HIMSS Stage 7 designated facility
