Staff OB/GYN Physician

Seeking a full-time Staff OB/GYN Physician to join its hospital-owned practice in Brattleboro, Vermont. This is a permanent position within a stable, community-based practice offering full-spectrum women’s health care, strong physician collaboration, and an excellent quality of life.

Practice Overview

  • Setting: Hospital-owned OB/GYN practice

  • Location: Brattleboro, VT

  • Patient Population: Diverse community-based population

  • Care Model: Collaborative team including physicians, certified nurse midwives, NPs, nurses, and medical assistants

  • Practice Stability: Long-standing practice with very low physician and staff turnover

  • Reproductive Care Environment: Evidence-based OB/GYN care in a state with constitutional protection of reproductive rights

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide full-spectrum obstetrics and gynecology care

  • Manage gynecologic consults from community PCPs and in-house midwives

  • Perform office-based gynecologic procedures

  • Participate in minimally invasive and advanced laparoscopic surgeries

  • Maintain steady surgical volume with access to three modern operating rooms

  • Provide physician backup for midwife-led obstetric care, including uncomplicated deliveries

  • Support a birth center offering VBACs, water birth, nitrous oxide, and 24-hour epidural services

Schedule & Call

  • Clinic Schedule: 3–4 clinic days per week

  • Clinic Volume: Approximately 12–14 patients per day

  • OR Time: Average of 3 dedicated OR days per month

  • Call: Home call shared among physicians (1:4 rotation), manageable and sustainable

Candidate Requirements

  • MD or DO degree – Required

  • Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in OB/GYN – Required

  • Completion of an accredited OB/GYN residency (U.S. or Canada) – Required

  • Active Vermont license (must be obtained prior to start) – Required

  • Clean malpractice history – Required

Position Parameters

  • Permanent, full-time position only

  • Not open to locum or locum-to-perm candidates

  • Not accepting visa candidates

  • Not open to candidates commuting more than one hour

  • Not open to candidates holding another concurrent position
