A Medical Center seeks a Locum-to-Perm OB Hospitalist starting January 1, 2026. Role includes 24-hour in-house call, managing OBED patients, emergent deliveries, C-sections, and caring for patients without a primary OB/GYN. No GYN responsibilities. EMR: Epic.
Job Responsibilities
• Perform vaginal deliveries and C-sections
• Provide care for patients without assigned OB/GYN
• Work with maternity transport team (only team in Iowa)
• Coordinate with MFM on call; residents present but not supervised
• Utilize imaging, lab, and pharmacy services
• Complete documentation and maintain high-quality inpatient OB care
Qualifications
• Active Iowa License or IMLC – Required
• Clean malpractice/background – Required
• Willingness to sign locum-to-perm attestation – Required
Working Hours
• 6.5 shifts per month
• In-house call required
• Weekend coverage required
Skills
• Proficiency in vaginal deliveries and C-sections
• Ability to work independently in high-volume OBED
• Familiarity with Epic EMR
• Excellent communication and clinical judgment
