Position Summary
The organization is seeking an experienced Laborist (OB/GYN Physician) to join its growing labor & delivery team in the Renton, WA area.
This full-time, permanent position is focused on inpatient obstetric care, including triage, labor management, deliveries, emergent OB/GYN procedures, and supporting a high-volume L&D unit. The Laborist will collaborate closely with midwives, OB/GYN physicians, residents (if applicable), anesthesiology, and neonatology staff in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Essential Responsibilities
Provide 24/7 inpatient obstetric care through scheduled Laborist shifts
Manage labor, perform vaginal deliveries, and assist with cesarean sections
Respond to obstetric emergencies, including shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, and operative interventions
Support triage evaluations and make timely clinical decisions
Collaborate with midwives, OB/GYN physicians, anesthesia, pediatrics/NICU, and L&D nursing teams
Provide gynecologic urgent care and assist with inpatient consults
Ensure accurate and timely EMR documentation
Participate in quality initiatives, safety drills, and multidisciplinary meetings
Qualifications
Education: MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Training: Completion of an ACGME-accredited OB/GYN residency
Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
Licensure: Eligible for Washington medical licensure
Experience: Prior Laborist or high-volume L&D experience strongly preferred (facility not considering new graduates )
Skills: Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and ability to manage obstetric emergencies
