A major managed care organization in Dallas, TX is seeking a dedicated and experienced Associate Medical Director (OB/GYN) to support high-quality, affordable care for underserved communities. This is a non-clinical leadership role—ideal for an OB/GYN interested in administrative medicine, quality programs, and utilization management.

Position: Associate Medical Director – OB/GYN

Location: Dallas, Texas
Type: Full-Time, Administrative
Not Open To: Locums, 1099, visa candidates, or physicians with lapsed board certification

🔹 Role Overview

The Associate Medical Director will provide clinical leadership and oversight across utilization management, quality programs, policy development, and provider performance evaluation.

🔹 Key Responsibilities

  • Review prior authorization and appeal cases

  • Conduct peer-to-peer discussions

  • Provide oversight for utilization, quality, and disease management

  • Develop medical policies, coverage guidelines, and clinical standards

  • Assist in pharmacy benefit oversight

  • Support fraud, waste, and abuse program initiatives

  • Participate in process improvement, committee leadership, and community partnerships

  • Represent the organization in meetings with state and local regulatory bodies

  • Assist in provider credentialing and performance review

  • Contribute to annual goals, objectives, and clinical programs

🔹 Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of managed care concepts

  • Familiarity with Texas Medicaid regulations

  • Leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Ability to interpret clinical evidence, support care coordination, and evaluate quality outcomes

  • Ability to manage confidential information and maintain composure under pressure

  • Experienced with treatment plan review and physician performance evaluation

🔹 Submission Requirements (Must Be Clearly Documented)

  • Board Certification in OB/GYNRequired, no exceptions

  • Texas medical license or willingness to obtain – Required

  • Clean malpractice and license history – Highly preferred

  • Experience in managed care and prior authorization – Required

  • Participation in UM or managed care committees – Preferred

  • Ability to lead and work in a multidisciplinary environment

  • Familiarity with Texas Medicaid regulations – Required
