Silvis, Illinois – OB Hospitalist
Position Overview
Seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible OB/GYN to cover both inpatient and outpatient services. Open to new graduates who are Board Eligible (within 5 years of residency) but must plan to become Board Certified prior to start. Not accepting Locums or visa candidates. Providers must have clean malpractice history.
Clinical Role / Responsibilities
- Inpatient & Outpatient Coverage: Both required
- OB Procedures:
- Fetal monitoring, low-risk pregnancies, FHR interpretation (NST/CST/FSE)
- OB ultrasounds – performance and interpretation
- Routine deliveries: vaginal, low forceps, decision-making for C-section
- Complicated deliveries: C-section, breech, multiple births, abruptions, VBACs, repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations
- GYN/Office Procedures:
- IUD insertion, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP
- Laparoscopic diagnostic/minor tubal ligation, LOAs, chromal tubation
- Operative/Major Procedures: Ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, extensive LOAs
- 16 LDRP rooms, Level II nursery, dedicated surgical suite
- Onsite outpatient office close to LDRP unit
- Partnership with local FQHC for underserved populations
- Total beds: 15 | Exam rooms: 2 + procedure room
- Nursery admissions: 0–3 per day
- EMR: Cerner (converting to Epic in 2025)
- Low-risk pregnancies: 40–50%
- High-risk pregnancies: 50–60%
- C-section rate: 30%
- GYN surgeries: flexible based on physician preference
- Board Certification/Eligibility: OB/GYN – Required
- Malpractice: Clean history preferred; no ongoing cases requiring supervision
- New Graduates: Board Eligible within 5 years acceptable if testing planned
- Visa Candidates: Not accepted
- Locums Candidates: Not accepted
