OB Laborist Physician Locums Job in Iowa | 12- or 24-Hour Call Shifts | Beginning ASAP – Ongoing | Assignment #112154
Coverage Details
-- Weekday coverage required (Monday–Friday minimum); weekends welcomed
-- Facility will not allow two consecutive 24-hour shifts Monday–Friday; Fri/Sat, Sat/Sun, or Sun/Mon allowed
-- Call schedule available 1–2 months in advance
-- Credentialing: 30–90 days
Shift Description
-- 24-hour call (8 AM–8 AM) or 12-hour call (8 AM–8 PM)
-- Sleep room on-site for 24-hour shifts
-- Must be available Mon–Fri with some weekends
Call Details
-- Call ratio: 1:5
-- On-call work only; rounding on Genesis patients
-- Cover ER calls for OB/GYN and No Doc patients (approx. 1/day)
-- Circumcisions if able (not mandatory)
Requirements
-- Board Certified in OB/GYN (cannot accept FM OB Physicians)
-- Active Iowa License or Active IMLC (upload LOQ at name clear)
-- Fetal Monitoring
-- Two references (one from supervisor or above)
-- Clean malpractice/background
Procedures Required
-- Obstetrics: Low/High Risk Pregnancy, FHR interpretation, OB ultrasounds, amniocentesis
-- Labor & Delivery: Vaginal delivery, C-section, VBACs, repair of 3rd/4th degree lacerations
-- Gynecology: Surgical (open), laparoscopic minor, operative major
Assignment Details
-- Trauma Level: Level 3
-- Average deliveries: 65–80 per month
-- OB & GYN in hospital
-- No overtime
-- Support staff: Labor & Delivery, postpartum, OR, ER
-- 1–2 CNMs on-site
-- EMR: Cerner
