A leading regional healthcare organization in Maryland is seeking a Chief of OB/GYN to provide strategic direction and leadership for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The Chief will oversee departmental operations, faculty, and clinical programs while supporting academic growth and innovation in patient care.

### Assignment Details
Position Type: Full-time, employed leadership role
Schedule: Variable hours with administrative and clinical responsibilities
Team Structure:
- 6 generalist OB/GYNs, 2 maternal-fetal medicine physicians, 2 APPs, and 16 residents
- Additional 13 community physicians with active medical staff privileges
Academic Role:
- Faculty appointment available through an affiliated university
- Participation in an ACGME-accredited OB/GYN residency program (16 residents total)
- Engagement in medical student education and mentorship
Services Provided:
- Comprehensive prenatal and postnatal care
- Advanced gynecologic surgery
- Growing maternal-fetal medicine and gynecologic oncology programs
- Diabetes management support with registered dietitians
- Laborist support for L&D coverage

### Responsibilities
Lead and manage all departmental clinical, academic, and administrative functions
Direct physician staff and coordinate with hospital administration for non-physician operations
Oversee departmental budgets, clinical quality, utilization review, and compliance
Develop and enforce departmental policies and procedures
Participate in recruitment, hiring, and evaluation of department members
Provide consultation to other departments and hospital committees
Represent the department in community and organizational initiatives
Support ongoing strategic planning and clinical innovation

### Requirements
MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Eligible for Maryland medical license and DEA certification
Minimum 7–10 years of clinical and administrative leadership experience
Experience in an academic or complex teaching environment
Strong communication, strategic planning, and team leadership skills
Master’s degree in healthcare management or business preferred
Prior chair or chief experience preferred, but emerging leaders considered
