Job description
An excellent locum tenens opportunity is available for an experienced OB/GYN Physician in Petersburg, Virginia. Provide full-spectrum inpatient care, including labor and delivery, gynecologic emergencies, and postpartum management. You’ll be part of a collaborative environment with experienced hospitalists, nurses, and surgical staff supporting 24-hour coverage.
Job Responsibilities
• Perform and manage C-sections, vaginal deliveries, suction D&C, ectopic pregnancies, ovarian torsion, and abnormal bleeding.
• Manage unreferred patients and collaborate with Laborists and nursing staff.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the EPIC EMR system.
• Participate in 24-hour call coverage with minimal call-backs.
Qualifications
• Active Virginia Medical License – Required
• DEA License – Required
• ABOG & BLS Certification – Required
• Must be local (only mileage reimbursed) – Required
• Clean background and NPDB self-query required at submission
Working Hours
• Coverage Dates: November 27th – November 30th
• Weekend Coverage: Yes
• Call Ratio: 1:4
Skills
• Strong surgical and diagnostic abilities
• Proficient in emergency obstetric procedures
