Seeking an experienced OB/GYN to provide 24-hour in-house coverage for labor and delivery. This is a hospital-based locum opportunity focusing on obstetric and gynecologic care, including vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and inpatient gynecologic emergencies.
Job Responsibilities
Manage obstetric patients, deliveries, emergency gynecologic cases, and inpatient consultations
Perform vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and circumcisions as needed
Oversee patient triage (10–15 patients/day) during assigned shifts
Collaborate with hospital staff to ensure high-quality patient care
Use Cerner EMR for all documentation and patient records
Qualifications
Active Iowa Medical License or IMLC Letter of Qualification – Required (upload LOQ at submission)
Previous OB/GYN experience – Required
Clean malpractice and background preferred
Working Hours
24-hour in-house hospital coverage per shift
No clinic or telehealth responsibilities
Procedure/OR coverage as needed
Skills
Experienced in performing vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and circumcisions
Strong clinical decision-making and emergency management skills
Skilled in using Cerner EMR for accurate patient documentation
