- A hospital in Iowa is seeking OB/GYN Hospitalists for locum coverage.
- Providers will handle weekday and weekend call shifts, covering obstetrics and gynecology patients in a Level 3 Trauma setting.
- Coverage includes triage, deliveries, ER consults, rounding, and procedures.
Job Responsibilities
Cover ER calls for OB/GYN.
Round on patients in the hospital.
Manage unassigned patients.
Perform circumcisions if able (not mandatory).
Provide 24-hour in-house call coverage (12-hour shifts may be considered).
Qualifications
Active IA license or IMLC eligibility – REQUIRED.
Fetal Monitoring certification – REQUIRED.
Must be willing to provide weekday coverage (Mon–Fri); weekend shifts optional.
Clean malpractice/background – REQUIRED.
2 references (1 must be supervisory) – REQUIRED.
Working Hours
Weekday coverage required; weekends available.
Facility does not allow consecutive weekday 24-hour shifts (Fri–Mon rotation permitted).
Skills
Competence in C-sections, VBACs, complicated deliveries.
OB ultrasound (Level I/Screening), amniocentesis.
Gynecologic surgery (open, laparoscopic, operative).
Strong decision-making and patient management in emergent OB scenarios.
