A leading health system in Grand Rapids, Michigan is seeking a dynamic and experienced Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Physician to serve as Medical Director for its Regional Maternal Fetal Medicine program. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity to lead a growing, mission-driven program while making a lasting impact on patients and their families.

  • Provide physician leadership and oversight for the Maternal Fetal Medicine service line.

  • Collaborate in a dyad leadership model with administrative and OB/GYN leadership to strengthen program quality and services.

  • Shape and enhance maternal-fetal programs across the West Michigan region.

  • Deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care for high-risk pregnancies, including diagnostic, consultative, and management services.

  • Partner with obstetricians, neonatologists, and multidisciplinary specialists for coordinated care.

  • Guide program development, ensuring excellence in Quality, Service, Colleague Engagement, and Financial Stewardship.

  • Mentor and support medical students and residents.

Job Responsibilities

Lead the maternal-fetal medicine service line with accountability for clinical and operational excellence.

Provide advanced maternal and fetal care to complex cases.

Drive innovation and growth in program design and delivery.

Support education, mentorship, and physician engagement initiatives.

Qualifications

Board Certified in OB/GYN and Maternal Fetal Medicine.

Eligible for or active Michigan medical license.

DEA, BLS, and ACLS certifications (or willing to obtain).

Minimum 5 years of MFM practice experience (post-training).

At least 2 years of leadership experience (or formal leadership training) preferred.

Clean malpractice history preferred.

Open to H1B visa candidates (J1 not accepted).

Not accepting new graduates or Locums candidates.

Working Hours

Full-time schedule with focus on outpatient leadership and patient care.

Balanced call shared within the team.

Proven leadership ability in clinical or program settings.

Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Dedication to advancing women’s and children’s health.

Ability to mentor, educate, and inspire colleagues.
