Full-time locum tenens opportunity at a community hospital offering a balanced mix of clinic and call coverage, with support from certified nurse midwives and virtual MFM consults.
Schedule:
- Clinic: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (4 days/week per provider)
- Hospital: Monday–Friday, variable hours
- Call: 1 in 4 rotation; ~8 call days/month
- No 24-hour in-house requirement
- CNMs typically cover weekends as first call
Call Back Percentage:
- Weekday: 80%
- Weekend: 80%
- OB: 80%
- GYN: 20%
Caseload:
- Practice Type: OB/GYN
- Patient Mix:
- Low-risk pregnancy: 50%
- High-risk pregnancy: 50%
- C-sections: 20%
- Office GYN: 35%
- Surgical GYN: Not applicable
- Clinic patients/day: 15–20
- Deliveries/week: ~6
- Staff:
- OB/GYNs: 3
- Mid-levels: 2
- MFM/Perinatologists: Virtual support
- Supervision: Required for CNMs during first call
- OB/GYNs present during locum coverage
Worksite Resources:
- Onsite lab & ultrasound (performed by techs)
- 13 exam rooms
- RN support in clinic
- Office equipment includes ultrasound
- EMR: Epic (hospital & clinic)
Hospital Services:
- Total beds: 39
- ICU beds: 4
- Trauma Level: III
- Nursery: Level II (with transfer capability to higher-level NICU)
- Transfer protocol: Coordinated via central "DocLine"
- No teaching service coverage required
Required Procedures:
Obstetrics:
- Management of low and high-risk pregnancies
- FHR interpretation (NST/CST/FSE)
- OB ultrasound interpretation (Level I/screening)
Labor & Delivery:
- Routine vaginal deliveries, low forceps, C-section decision-making
- Complicated deliveries including breech, multiple births, abruptions
- Repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations
Gynecology:
- Office/minor procedures: IUD, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP
- Surgical procedures:
- Laparoscopic diagnostic/minor: tubal ligation, LOA, chromal tubation
- Operative/major: ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, extensive LOA
Travel Requirements:
- Flight cap: Up to $750 round trip
- Lodging: Reimbursed up to $150/night with receipt
- Car rental: Economy car cap, reimbursed with receipt
- Mileage: Reimbursed at IRS standard rate
Submission Requirements:
- Board Certified OB/GYN (ABMS/AOA)
- Colorado license or IMLC
- Full-time availability (minimum 3 weeks/month)
- COVID vaccination
- Epic experience: Must disclose years and last month/year used
