Join a collaborative and fast-paced OB/GYN Hospitalist team in Fresno, CA, providing in-house care across Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, and Postpartum units. With support from Level II & III NICUs and a 25+ bed ICU, you'll be part of a high-acuity, high-impact environment handling a mix of private, unassigned, and FQHC patients.
This is a flexible locum opportunity with 5–7 shifts/month, perfect for physicians looking to supplement income while practicing in a respected teaching facility with frequent resident and medical student coverage.
🏥 Position Overview:

Start Date: September 2025

Schedule: 5–7 in-house 24-hour shifts per month

Shift Volume: ~3–4 deliveries and 13–15 total patients per 24-hr shift

Delivery Volume: ~120/month (10% no prenatal care)

Coverage: ER, GYN, and OB for both unassigned & private group patients

Support: Epic EMR, NICU levels II & III, backup call physician, residents & medical students

Call Ratio: 1:5

Midwives: None on shift; primary OB Hospitalist manages all triage/labor
🛠️ Duties Include:

Full inpatient OB/GYN coverage

Managing labor, triage, postpartum, and emergent GYN cases

C-section assistance (private attendings perform their own unless otherwise arranged)

ER OB/GYN consults
-
Rounding and documentation on all covered patients (including those seen by residents)
✅ Submission Requirements:

Board Certified in OB/GYN
-
Active CA License
-
Fetal Heart Monitoring Certification
-
Must reside in CA – Required
-
Experience with Level II/III NICUs

Clean malpractice history – Preferred

Minimum availability: 5–7 shifts/month
