Laborist - OBGYN Hospitalist opening in Baltimore, MD

  • Baltimore, MD - Carroll County, Baltimore County, Frederick County, MD
Position Details: Full-Time; Hours vary 1,800 annual births Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Well established team of attending faculty Maternal Fetal Medicine practice that provides full range of antenatal services including consultation for L&D patients. Full GYN Oncology service for complex surgical cases. 24/7 Anesthesia in house support Support for diabetes management provided by a registered dietician Provide the highest level of expertise in complete prenatal and postnatal care and the latest gynecologic surgeries Robust divisions of Urogynecology and Gynecologic Oncology provide patients with a full range of advanced GYN care as well as support for Obstetric emergencies Laborist program supports the labor and delivery unit Education for future OB/GYNs in our ACGME certified residency program of 16 residents (4 per year) The Laborist will perform the following services: - Provide inpatient coverage for Labor and Delivery and OB triage - Consult for post-partum and Emergency Departments - Oversee Emergency Department and Gynecologic emergencies that includes but is not limited to miscarriages, ectopic pregnancies and complications of GYN surgery - Manage labor floor that provides coverage of both low risk and high-risk pregnancies - Perform vaginal deliveries as well as operative deliveries, cesarean sections, both primary and repeat procedures - Regularly scheduled shifts of either 12 to 24 hours - Enjoy the reward and challenge of teaching and supervising future OB/GYN physicians in our longstanding and well regarded ACGME certified program - Be a part of our departmental focus on enhancing patient safety and improving physician satisfaction - Consistent schedule with full time benefits Qualifications: MD or DO from an Accredited Medical School - Required Board Eligibility or Certification in Internal Medicine or equivalent demonstrated experience Maryland Medical License without restrictions Current CDS license, DEA certificate, and ACLS Certification required Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment New graduates welcome to apply Benefits: Full benefit package Flexible spending account (FSAs) Free parking 403(b) retirement plan 457(b) deferred compensation plan CME allowance Life insurance PSLF Applicable Discounted membership at our 70,000 square foot health and fitness center Medical Group Details: The health system has a breadth of sophisticated programs and services and a wide network of colleagues to draw upon.
