- Other Details: A locum to perm OB/GYN Hospitalist is needed starting January 1, 2026, for 24-hour inpatient shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 a.m., averaging 6.5 shifts per month with 24/7 on-call coverage. Responsibilities include managing OBED patients, handling emergent cases such as vaginal deliveries and C-sections, caring for patients without a primary OB/GYN, and participating in the only maternity transport team in the state. The facility includes an 8-bed OBED, on-site medical imaging, lab, and pharmacy, and utilizes Epic EMR. The OBED sees approximately 1,389 visits annually, with around 463 resulting in deliveries.

Job Responsibilities
* Perform vaginal deliveries and C-sections
* Manage patients without a primary OB/GYN
* Participate in maternity transport services
* Deliver high-quality inpatient obstetric care during 24-hour shifts
Qualifications
* Active Iowa medical license or valid Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)
* LOQ (Letter of Qualification) required at the time of name clear
Working Hours
* Shift length: 24 hours (7 a.m. to 7 a.m.)
* Shifts per month: 6.5
* On-call: 24/7 coverage
* No telehealth responsibilities
* No supervision of advanced practice providers
Skills
* Skilled in managing labor and performing cesarean sections
* Ability to work independently in a high-volume OBED setting
* Familiarity with Epic electronic medical records
* Strong decision-making and clinical assessment skills in urgent care settings
