Job description
We're seeking an experienced OB Hospitalist for night shift coverage at a California hospital. This is a bread-and-butter OB role with operative deliveries. Must be comfortable managing complications, including those related to abortion procedures (though performing abortions is not required). Experience working with midwives and Spanish-speaking patients is preferred.
Job Responsibilities
Handle 1–2 ED consults per night
Perform standard OB deliveries, with experience in operative deliveries (forceps highly preferred)
Supervise and collaborate with midwives
Provide care for complications arising from procedures (including abortion-related cases)
Work with Epic EMR
Participate in shift handoffs (1-hour handoff included in shift time)
Qualifications
Active California Medical License (required)
Active DEA license with California registration (required)
BLS certification (required)
Minimum 2 years of OB Hospitalist experience (required)
Spanish-speaking skills (preferred)
Experience working with midwives (preferred)
Working Hours
Schedule: 10–15 shifts per month
No call required
Skills
Comfortable with operative deliveries, including forceps-assisted deliveries
Skilled communicator and team player, especially in working with midwives and diverse patient populations
