Shift: 7a–7a, 24-hour call; 6.5 shifts per month

Position Details:
Patient Population: Obstetric emergency department patients, emergent OB/GYN patients, maternity transport patients, and patients without a primary OB/GYN
Setting: Inpatient; MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center – 8-bed OBED (Obstetric Emergency Department)
Responsibilities: Manage OBED patients, perform vaginal deliveries and C-sections as needed, support Iowa’s only maternity transport team
Required Procedures: Emergent vaginal deliveries, C-sections
EMR System: Epic
Support Staff: No APP supervision required; access to medical imaging, lab, and pharmacy
Days Per Month: Approximately 6.5 shifts per month
On-Call/Weekends: Yes – 24-hour on-call; weekends required
Submission Requirements:

Board Certified (or truly Board Eligible) – Required

Active Iowa License or Active IMLC – Required (LOQ must be uploaded at time of name clear)
