OB Hospitalist/Nocturnist Opening in Maine * Located in Bangor * Full-time, permanent opening * Approximately twelve 14-hour night shifts, with the availability of extra night or day shifts for extra compensation * Work alongside 8 physicians, 2 certified nurse midwives, 2 nurse practitioners, and skilled support staff * Provide routine and high-risk obstetric and gynecologic services to a patient population of approximately 500,000 people * Overnight, the OBGYN is responsible for triage, labor and delivery, antepartum, and transfer patients, as well as postpartum patients needing physician consultation, ED consults, and emergent GYN surgery. * 24-hour access to Maternal Fetal Medicine consultation via phone, and on-site Anesthesia and NICU colleagues to care for our patients. * In addition, we provide consultation services for the Northern Light Family Medicine residency program and have rotating medical students. There are over 1,600 deliveries per year at NL EMMC, and we currently support a level III NICU. We are the referral center for two thirds of the geographical area of Maine and many patients travel 2+ hours to deliver at our hospital. Our hospital invested in a $300 million tower which opened in 2016.
