Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled MD to join our healthcare team providing medical care to students at a Student Health Center within a University setting in Suffolk Co, NY.
The Gynecology Clinical Educator & Expert Trainer is responsible for training healthcare providers in performing pelvic exams and other gynecological procedures, ensuring adherence to evidence-based care. This role does not include obstetrics but focuses solely on gynecology. The individual will serve as the expert in gynecological best practices, providing hands-on training, clinical oversight, and guidance to maintain the highest standard of patient care. This role is essential in ensuring that all providers are well-trained, competent, and aligned with best practices in gynecological care.
The Physician will participate in health education, community outreach, and university-wide wellness initiatives, supporting the vast health needs of students.
Must be Board Certified in NY. The pay range for this position is flexible from $200 - $220/hour (Negotiable based on experience)
Job Responsibilities
• Ensure all providers follow current, evidence-based guidelines and best practices.
• Shadow providers during gynecological exams to evaluate technique, patient-centered approach, and adherence to best practices.
• Serve as the primary resource and expert in gynecological procedural training.
• Stay updated on the latest gynecological care standards and integrate them into training protocols.
• Ensure consistency in patient care by standardizing clinical practices across all providers.
Qualifications
• Board certification or eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) with a focus on gynecology
• Extensive experience performing and training others in gynecological procedures, including pelvic exams, gynecological screenings, and evidence-based care practices.
• Training and experience in performing pelvic exams, Pap smears, and STI screening/treatment. Experience with preventive care, contraception counseling, and reproductive health services.
• Strong background in clinical education, mentorship, and procedural training.
• Experience in clinical supervision
• Recent experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems and telemedicine.
• DEA License
• CPR/BLS certification
Working Hours
Full Time, Monday - Friday opportunity. No weekends, calls, or evenings.
Skills
• Additional certification or subspecialty training in gynecologic procedures or women’s health.
• Experience developing and implementing training programs for healthcare providers.
• Familiarity with quality improvement initiatives, clinical policy development, and regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge of inclusive, patient-centered, and culturally competent gynecological care practices.
• Experience with LGBTQ+ inclusive care, and PrEP prescribing.
• Supervisory or leadership experience in a clinical setting.
• ACLS certification
